But as we all know, every year new varieties come out as a result of crosses of the previous year's varieties! So basically a scam, the only safe varieties, are the older ones! By making a cross, the first generation will have 50% similarity to the mother, and 50 to the father, so when you plant something new, you know very well that it is not stable at all. You have 99% stability only after about 9-10 generations
