Week 9.) Seedsman - Auto lemon is now absolutely covered in beautifully bright and blingy trichrimes :) I am loving the amazing citrus and skunk aromas and of course, how beautiful this plant looks under the lights!! She is the smallest of my plants this grow but that's 100% my fault for the way I trained and topped an auto like this one. It was a bad idea and I wouldn't do it with a plant that doesn't get that big again. All I did was slow her down and destroy my one main cola this plant likes to produce ๐Ÿ™ˆ (again my fault, I did read this when I ordered the seeds and I shouldn't be topping autos anyway!!) but I do get carried away with myself ๐Ÿ˜…What can I say? Im a nerd who likes to see what happens when I do experiments lol ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ‘ But seriously, I will try to restrain myself in future grows though.... Promise x Cash Crop Auto - Wow wow wow. This is my biggest auto so far. Shes got LOADS of tall branches flowering from top to bottom all over her. She is stretching still and not fattening or sparkling at all yet so I will just keep feeding her my biobizz every other day and see how big she gets ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ’• #Fun! Lastly, after much thought I have decided to split this diary into 2 diaries. It should have been done this way right from the beginning but I am a lazy stoner chick ๐Ÿ˜Ž so I decided I could save a whole lot of time if I put my autos and photos on the same grow diary!! GENIUS!!!! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‚put my 2 autos (mentioned above) on with a couple of Blueberry Twist plants I had going from the same week .. Worked great till my autos started flowering WEEKS ago and Iv Only just flipped one of my BTs and I'm keeping the other as a mother for clones. So yes it has all got a bit complicated and confusing for me, let alone anyone else so I am finally doing what I should have done in January!! Yayyy Go me!! Again I will try not to fuck up this way again in the future. #LAZY Thanks 4 reading ๐Ÿ˜ƒ ... My new Blueberry twist diary is now live. Go check it out.... MissB xXx

SUPERCROPPING.....I have used this technique in my last grow (Green Crack auto) and saw great results!! BUT I did it earlier than week 7. So My question is.... Am I OK To supercrop some of the side branches that are sticking up above the tied down colas? OR Is it too late?? TIA

Sure you can, But with that said it is usually done in veg. and it can be done in early flower, but personally would not do it with the auto due them being a little further into flowering. For photo's you can get away with the supper-cropping in early flower but I have had the best results doing it like a week or 2 before the flip to flower. Happy Growing Keep up the awsome work๐Ÿ‘

Thanks so much you guys and gals who answered my grow question! 3 fab answers and all absolutely spot on advice I'd say!!. I will LST The remaining side branches this time to maintain a nice even canopy and to avoid any disasters so late in the game with the autos!! Not worth loosing out altogether for maybe a few extra grams!! Thanks again people :) I will play it safe!!HAPPY GROWING & SMOKING PPL!! :)Miss Bling XxX

@MissBling, hey you got it ๐Ÿ’ช just one thing though : i got bad experience LST-ing autos already in flower, the branches that were pulled ended up yielding less than those that werent, just letting you know, because a few extra grams is always worth it ! ๐Ÿš€

Nice! I'm curious how those blueberry twists will smoke!! I've been wondering about organic ph up/down methods as well. I've been considering lemon & vinegar as an organic ph down and baking soda for an organic ph up. There is also a product called earth juice natural that has a ph up/down line. But I have not yet tried any of these methods personally. Hopefully some more experienced organic growers will have some advice!!

How many defoliation rounds, waves or whatever leaf stripping you do to plants ? ;)) Looks like no fan leaves left .. I am very interested in that. Could you share some of your experience ? Nobody seems to answer my question at my diary, so i am seeking for answers myself. I am a strong believer in defoliation , just i hate to make stress to anybody, even to my girls, when i know it helps in the end ... Its just so hard to rip leave or all of them ;)))))) I have my mini test runing and search for grows who look like after good defoliations and asking people stupid questions ...

@AsNoriu, Hi there ๐Ÿ˜.. Ok so. Firstly I am no expert and anything I say here is simply what I do with my own plants. I am not suggesting this is the correct way to do it, just what seems to work for me and my set up ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘. So here goes.... Defoliation. I have experience using this technique on my other crops. Also done a fair bit of reading on this matter and I practice this technique on all my girls.... and it is something I can see is working well for me ๐Ÿ˜. I will add a link to this comment at the end with an article I found helpful in the beginning. Have a read!! Ok so I start to defoliate a tiny bit very early on in veg... This is just to get the plants used to being stressed a little so they don't get shocked and or stunted or stressed... like they would if you started ripping leaves off mid flower, for example on a plant that has never experienced that kind of trauma before. This is called "hardening." Just like with tomatos. Which I also grow in my veg garden! Just like your grandmother Coincidentally lol... So in the beginning I will remove ONLY 2-3 leaves the first few times, then wait and watch my plant closely over the next few days to ensure she is not too stressed, stunted or unhappy with me in any way. If she is happy and unaffected simply repeat this process every few days (2 times weekly on average) removing a few more fan leaves each time. I do this throughout the ENTIRE grow. The plant will grow new fan leaves to replace the ones you remove but they will need much smaller and less offensive than the older bigger light hogging leaves!! The idea behind this is that I remove the old, big bulky fan leaves that would take up too much of my grow space and possibly cast shade on my flowering colas, which will negatively affect taste, yield and potency. So I continue to do this all the way into flower. This time removing the top fan leaves rather than bottom ones to allow maximum light to those top colas. If you take pictures a few days before and after defoliation you should see the difference in the size of flowers!! You will be amazed ๐Ÿ˜‰. Defoliation is also great for reducing humidity in your grow room, saving space, keeping plants compact, keeping canopies even, maximising light power and improving potency and yield (DISCLAIMER... IN MY EXPERIENCE) ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ Next time I defoliate my blueberry twists (see other diary) I will take a video. I will show you exactly how I do it ๐Ÿ˜ƒ will comment again here when Iv done that. I really Hope this helps. If it makes no sense let me know and I shall try and explain better. Link to follow about defoliating when I find it!! MissB x ๐Ÿ’•

@ThatoneAKguy, 3 times i edited grammar and added some thoughts, its crashing every time .. no more one finger mobile typing. If your plant is strong and you know what you do - just do it ! Sandwiches of tucked leaves dont work.Light absorbed only by top one. Just sweat and asks mold to move in ;))

Hey missB I've been having the bottled nutrient blues also. I choose soil because of its buffering capacity and I'd like to one day get better at being able to reamend and reuse my soils rather than having to throw them away because of all of the excess nitrates etc that come along with bottled products. Unfortunately ive had to really try investigating the bottles i try using by getting the msds or sds sheets on each bottle. It's so hard when the majority of the companies are "mostly" or "partly" organic and then rant about how organic they are when it's only slightly so. I hope you can find the solution to your need of organic products to help with the ph and everything else. โœŒ๏ธ

@MissBling, yea im no soil biologist so the whole recipe factor is always confusing for me. I know kisorganics.com has a great and true organic super soil recipe, they also sell their super soil and tell how to reamend. Then there's the clackmas coot recipe which is also very good and very organic environment conscious. โœŒ๏ธ

@MissBling, oh I will be for sure! This run I had a freak incident where I planted 5 seeds direct to soil for the first time. 3 weeks later nothing from all 5. Went to my old germination method for a new batch, this time germinating a few extra incase. Well all 11 of the new ladies took and were put in my original pots. Fast forward another 2 weeks. A month since my initial run. And all 5 ladies start popping up next to the new ones. I transplanted them all out successfully and but was stuck with 16 plants opposed to my target of 4-8. So unfortunately some ladies had to get taken out. I have more seeds so every lady who didn't make it will be grown next run. Also because of the mix up there is about a 50% chance I am growing a lemon auto without knowing it because I had no clue which was which when the zombies(what I named the original runs survivors) were in which pot at this point over a month later and all shuffled about.

Nice yield Miss! You are do pretty damn well in soil compared to many I see. What week do you start feeding them nutes? I started a little hydro project and am testing out 300 ppm on 1โ€ seedlings to see how they respond.
MissBling
MissBlingcommented6 years ago
@ThatoneAKguy, Thank you. Thats so nice to hear cos I really struggled in the beginning with my organic soil experiments and almost gave up hope! Ok so I dont feed any liquid nutes until after first 2 weeks. Just water. But I use worm castings and hypothetically speaking with the organic ingredients they should have everything they need already in the soil for first 4 weeks. Maybe even longer!! So I only feed 1ml per litre only for 3rd week and 1.5 for 4th. That's all they need the microbes do the rest for me ๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ‘ Oooohhhh.. I love experiments!! Sounds interesting. See how early you can start bulkinthem up ๐Ÿ˜ƒKeep me informed plz ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’• And I love watching your grows too. Very different to mine but I like that...I must admit I know very little about hydro but it interests me a lot ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿค“. Thanks for stopping by!! Much Love, MissB ๐Ÿ’•

Beautiful diary, congratulations on your big success! I'm planning to start a grow soon and also will go with BioBizz. But where the heck did you see a CalMag deficiency in week 3?
MissBling
MissBlingcommented6 years ago
@Buddha2, Hey!! Thank you so much !!๐Ÿ’• Super happy with this grow ๐Ÿ‘Œ. Calcium and magnesium... Yeah where I live has extremely low levels of cal and mag. Biobizz nutes and lightmix soil dont contain enough on their own for my girls. I use lime and Epsom salts... 1tbsp per gallon of soil every 6 weeks to keep my girls happy and topped up ๐Ÿ˜Š x

Nice sparkly buds ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ’–. My previous grow ( my first ) I grew GG4. I was restricted to 5ft height. I let my plants veg for 8 weeks. I never researched " the stretch " my plants grew past my lights. It was the Amazon. Plus I never topped nor trained, so branches everywhere. I tied/bend back what I could. Then I learnt super cropping flowering week 4. Thumb & index finger rubbing of stems to soften the bend blow etc I can't say it made for a bigger yield as I have never grown before so no comparison. But it got my buds back under the lights. Although the science tells me it should increase yield. What I didn't get was shocked plants hermaphroditing on me. Not sure if that was sheer l๐Ÿ€. Anyway that was just my experience.

MissB, Waiting for that link and thanks for sharing your know how. I will need couple years to get some statistics , but my atemts not bad aswell, check my flowering week 3 couple first photos .. Returnig to some experience sharing .. My grandad was teling me not to harm any plant till he is transplanted (so dont touch all veg time) and during that transplantation time you can shape him up a bit . And he never was transplanting plants till they dont reach certain maturity So i was trying the same on my plants, think stress is needed and must now ... Maybe ill change my mind later ;))))) One year we had worms infestation. Young tomato leafs where just eaten by them .. I dont know will you believe it, but that was one of most productive years, everybody liked to chat about that while eating tomatoes or just showing off infront of other gardeners ;))) So when i was reading about schwazzing (one of defoliation styles) i remembered that. The idea behind is not only light penetration, it is puting plants stress into your favour .. Plant after loosing most of his leaves and when he already midway into flower has a dilema what to do .. ussualy he put all efforts into next generation and thats all i need. Have two plants same height , same genetics. One was defoliated and bottom trimed another light defoliation and no trim or any clearing was done to it. Test is happening right now, but i already know the answer ;))) After two month i will be pure defoliation, lolitop and other stress believer ;)) Next run will go with two same girls, one will strip my way - in waves of stress and another will be your graduate style version ... We shall see. Thanks for your replay, keep on growing !

Hey there so regarding the ph level...i believe any of the "carbonates" should work fine. Some people might choose a dolomite lime product which is the calcium magnesium carbonate or agricultural lime which ends up just being some form of limestone either broken down or dust and its just calcium carbonate. And many do just turn to baking soda. There's a good company out there called kisorganics.com and they've got excellent products that all focus on organic and sustainability. โœŒ๏ธ

@Experimentgreen, Thank u so much for your help. It's much appreciated :) xx Ok so... I topped up my lime and Epsom soil amendments last week (top dressed and watered in) so my soil should be around 7!! I am a little confused. All I can think is that feeding every single watering seems super excessive to me!! I think Salts and or nutes are building up over the weeks. I'm considering maybe feed then feed then water? Every week instead of feed feed feed. What do u think? Xx
