I have started this diary as these two girls dont have one of their own and i cant cope with two more seperate ones to keep up with. lol. only seperated them all so i can have a crack at some comps here and they all demand single strain only. No doubt these two will be show stoppers now just to screw me right over.lol They were started on 29th April19 and without soaking , went into rootIt cubes direct. 24 hours later and All 8 seeds had hit the air at least. a few days on and they showed their Barneys genetics with their great settling in. I put them into temp pots as i was durme to go away forn10 days so had to make some wicking pots to keep them going while away. I never expected to come back to ALL of them but i did and they had been busy filling the mininpots with roots. They needed up potting and a decision on.my medium and route to take so i opted for coco. Summer is here now and heat issues make rdwc a pain to keep happy. They began their official veg stage with grow Lights 10 days ago. Both are very near their 5th nodes so will be getting topped and quadlined in the next few days. The Orange Sherbet ( O.S) has displayed a very odd keaf combo on her first sets. Not seen a leaf with two points fighting for dominance like it before. lets hope the mutation creates a giant.lol so now we are off and running. let the fun commence

Day 16 veg update : A busy week for these two with haircuts and strips like their neighbours. Both of them have responded really well and are now sending the 3rd and 4th nodes out to replace the tops. Feeding well with a lower ppm and no signs of any issues so far. Their real training begins now so watch this space for how a quad spreads out.

Update Veg day 29: Realising i had forgot this journal in my weekly updates i am now on it with New Mars hydro lights , a whole new run off solution and a new vigour for the grow. Both these ladies have been stomping it since their last haircut and update. The growth into the quads has been brilliant from them . The cookie has been a little slower than the Orange Sherbet but she is turning her tips to light after each re tie well enough. The O.s had gotten over her mutation mow it seems and has some great new grow tips forming. I think she will be a very big lady when she is through vegging. Now i have re jigged the room she can spread out a little more. With better lights now running i can get better pics and gear up ready for my Fast buds sponsored auto run too. The Orange Sherbet has been producing some amazing looking plants on the ones i have been watching. I cant wait to see her tangerine buds forming. On that note , i think another week and it will be time to flip to flower for them both. The the real fun begins then and thier first big defol after the stretch.

TRANSITION DAY 1(35 in Veg) The video is crap but from today. i wanted to see if they upload or it using the apps features. I have now flipped them to 12/12 and am now in the transition period . Both of the girls have played ball with their cousins for growth this week. The Cookie does look smaller than the rest of the crop and will have to work to keep up as they go. The Orange sherbet is a star of a girl. she is well over her mutations and is producing so many sites everywhere. Os took her trimmings and bondage in her stride too. She responded with tons of growth and new leaf formations. Her stems are nice and thick and her structure quaded is perfect for weight and flowering. She is a keeper strain i think. lets see what she flowers and smells like but for growth she is amazing. The Cookie is also trying hard but i think she could get left behind in the room when the fighting begins.. As a freebie from Barneys , anything she does is pure bonus so might make Hash from her whole plant. Both kadies did me proud with recovering from their clipping and i know the TSL-2000 had a great impact too.

TRANSITION DAY 11 (9Th July 19): Wow and wow these ladies are going for it now. They both have flower sets forming nicely which i didnt ecpect for another few days at least. I am going to take them to Friday to keep the stretch weeks ( transition) in line with feeds. i dont want to starve the stretch now. I didnstart adding the Sumo boost at 1ml/l as they are flowering and i dont want to starve them of anything they might be asking for now either. The Orange sherbet has a very complex inner structure going on which i feel is the Quadlining. She may suit a more traditio al grow style to get those limbs wide and growing. I will be thinning some of the less useful shoots out once the stretch has finished so she should get lots of light and air for her buds that should be nice and heavy. The Cookie is a lot smaller but does have a lot of growth for it. She hasn't stretched as much as the other ladies but she should still give up a decent yield if treated right. Fingers crossed for her keeping up now. lol Thanks for any comments in advance. have a green day .

Flower Day 2 (16 since flip): These two ladies have been very busy arrangi g their budlets into the best position for light they can. The Orange Sherbet is a good 24 inches high and her stems are very healthy looking and sturdy. she will hold a decent sized bud on them for sure. She isbfull of potential decen sites and some canopy management will be a definite to exploit her amazing genetical growth pattern. A winner from Barneys for me. The Cookie Kush is a lot smaller at about 20 inches and her structure is not nearly as robust as the Os. She does have a good ampunt of budlets to work with but i will be cautiously removing some.pointless tips on day 7. I love Kush so am hoping she gets a wriggle on to catch up and show the rest how to pack a mean , solid nug Now the fun begins and the bud porn can be peddled.!!. lol Green days fellow farmersWelcome along Fast Budz. Your beautiful strains are my next run and i am stoked to be going with them too

Day 9 flower: Orange Sherbet: This girl is a pleasure to grow so far. Her budlets dwarf the others in the room so far and at only 9 days flowering , shows a good indication of the overall finish she should have. she is packing buds on all over her structure now and following her defol on day 7 , she has really pumped them up. The shogun boost is a killer concoction it seems. Cannot fault this lady at all to date. She is slightly tacky now too which is a shock for her age. Cookie Kush : This lady is a midget !!! She is a lot smaller than other kush strains i have grown but looks healthy enough. I think her housemates dont help as they are all such good growers. She is big enough to keep up with the canopy but will need encouraging constantly to match them at some point.

Update day 14 flowering: These two ladies couldnt be different. the Orange Sherbet is tall at around 28inches with golf ball sized buds from bract to tip and the Cookie is petite with airy little buds and a small frame. She had had to have a boost up on a block to keep up now. I wont expect her to yield too much but as a Kush she may sneak up and surprise me. I am happy with the O.s as she is so happy and healthy , she is also beginning to smell a little now too UPDATE ######## The Cookie is no longer in this diary. i will grow her out but want this Orange Sherbet to be able to enter the comps here. she is a beauty and deserves the exposure. lol

Day 27 flowering : Wow this girl want a title. She is about to go i to her 4th week tomorrow and her bud size is huge compared to the other strains. Her stacking is rapidly increasing and her while stem on a few mains is joined up. She is smelling of orange now and is very sticky to touch. Love this lady and her abilities. humidity has been a bit high due to weather pattern in uk at minute but with lots of air getting around it should be ok for mould resistant conditions. All in all a great week for the Orange girl.

DAY 37 FLOWERING!!. ( i screwed up my counting !!. flowering began 12th july. ) This lady continues to impress me. with 3-4 weeks left on her she has some serious potential for fat buds. I have found sone bud rot due to high rh , killed me to lop it off but had to be done. Working with 2 extraction fans now for air. She smells beautiful and is very very sticky now.

Day 50 flowering. This lady continues to push out new pistils and has about 10 days at least to go. The bud rot has stayed off her thankfully but it is still very moist in the uk so need to keep vigilant. Her buds are solid snd oozing thc out to the touch. She is toppling in places due to her bud weights and i am re arranging a lot now. The Dragon force has done her justice with trich production going mad this week. lets see how she finished up. beautiful girl

Day 56 flowering (70 since flip) This girl has been a top performer since her seed hit the growplug. 1st to break ground , mutated leaf set to this monster of a lady. Her buds are beautiful. solid to touch but springy too. The smell of oranges is overwhelming in the room. She has been hit a few times with budrot but seems to be over it now removed and sorted the rh out. I wasnt sure if i had made an error with not counting the stretch weeks in flowering but seeing her pushing new pistils all over and not just near the lights( as light/heat stress does !) , i think shebhas more time to go yet . She is just starting to show signs of using her stores up with yellowing in a couple of leaves now. I think she knows it is close to her end now. A definite future grow. love this lady

Day 63 flowering (77 days since flip). This lady smells beautiful now. Her pistils are golden orange in so much of her bud but still pushing last ditch attempts to save herself. Bud size is good and they are rock solid too. love this girl and will be sad to cut her down. Yellowing off nicely ready to eat up those chlorophyll stores in the darkness. She will be in her dark period this evening , 48 hrs and she is going to be trimmed and ready to dry. UPDATE☆☆ day 67 and she is out of her dark period trimmed and hanging for her final harvest. Some great buds on her and i think about 6 oz of solid , orangey nugs. cannot wait to try her out.

After her intitial trimming , i could see the decent amount of heavy looking buds for the 1st time . I am amazed at her feel and smell too. She has a few days left to dry i think and i know a few weeks in a jar would leave her a champion grow. I am impressed as hell with the strain and it will be in my must do again list for sure. Cannot wait to smoke her delights. I have a sample bud to play with ( in pics) last sample nearly knocked me over and that was a lot earlier in the flowering cycle too !!!.

definitely a night time smoke for less tolerant among us !. She tastes if a very tangy orange and leaves a slight tang on exhale. The citric overtones should lessen with a cure and leave the less acidic , orange flavour that is also clearly in there too. She had me contemplating quite a bit and even writing this with her merrily guiding my flow , has me stopping occasionally to think about stuff!!!!. Have deleted and started this a couple of times for waffling .heehee A very nice high that is best described as "errrrrrrsomething and some more stuff" .I rest my case..... lol

From start to her finish she has been a great plant to grow. Given more space and light to herself would have given a huge yielding plant i feel. She grew long branches and her node spacing was fairly good but a little wide for compact growing like the quadlining uses. In a scrog she would perform amazing and i would recommend this to anyone unsure of growing the strain. she could get very big if left untrained !!! Her response to training was always excellent and even when losing a limb from my error , she bounced back quickly with a pair to compensate. They soon caught up with the older limbs too. Her buds get very dense and are prone to budrot if the Rh is not managed. You need a lot of good airflow around the buds themselves to even hope to avoid it with these huge thick colas. I lost about 1oz in rotted bits during the last few weeks of the grow and pre drying trim. Overall, loved growing this girl and she impressed me at every turn. One for the future. well done barneys Farm

@Ganjagrandaddy, Whatsup mate! Good to hear, sounds like a big change for sure. I looked at those ecothrive bags, very cool. I love this idea of water-only soils for the full grow. Been interested in it quite some time... these NPK bottles are such a scam to be honest. The dilution rate is bonkers. Mixing it up is a hassle. It's not the yields or growth that prevents me from trying organics, I'm terrified of bringing bugs into my stuff, haha! So, I avoid anything remotely living. I don't know, my thinking probably doesn't make sense, because even in a "non-living" medium, well.... there is this giant damn living thing standing right in it, called a plant! Anyhow, I look forward to follow your experience with keen interest :) hit me up when you get started !
Ganjagrandaddy
Ganjagrandaddycommented5 years ago
@BillMonroe,thanks . I appreciate your positive comments Bill. I am in the process of setting up for a side by side of a living organic soil called ecothrive which is fully organic with no animal products at all , no nutes needed just a tea for the bennies against Shogun nutes and charged coco with "ecothrive charge" another bennies product. They will be 4 fast buds auto strains with 12 plants to compare. should give a good comparison and answer some nagging curiosity about LOS. hoping the yields are at least on par with the coco and am sure the taste and potency will be better in the Los. Waiting fornthe damn landlord to complete a rewire on the 29th of this month and need to rebuild the loft room back up again. I should use lego to make it I have had to dismantle it so many times.lol. hopefully see you in a couple of weeks in a journal or 2 mate. green days

@The_Projexx, A very welcome comment Valhalla , thank you mate Still wish we had a usable forum here as it gets so hard keeping up on the chat one if you miss a week. lol We have some amazing growers around ( you included fella) and could benefit no end from it. did suggest to GD about adding "transition weeks" to their values for journalling. could avoid sonmany errors for new growers around actual flowering times and changing feeds at the correct time. Easy to screw the stretch up if you count flip( transition) time as Flower day 1 !!. Hope your all good bud.? Need to catch up on so many grows on here now .lol these girls are keeping me busy so hopefully the quadlining means i can sit back more now. lol Peace and blessings mate

Sorry for commenting on a 5yr post, but I'm wondering, why did you switch nutrient lines in week 5?
