11/29 - Day 15 In an effort to overcome the urge to baby my seedlings to death by overwatering, I've made a conscious effort to wait until the soil feels dry down about 2" into the medium. Once it reaches that point, I soak my 5 gallon pots with about 1/4 gallon of water. This day was a dry day as I watered the day before. Light distance was about 22" from my 5 gallons and 32" from my bonsais. Plant heights were as follows: - 5 gallon (1): 3" - 5 gallon (2): 2.5" - Bonsai (1): 1.25" - Bonsai (2): 1.5" - Bonsai (3): 2" 11/30 - Day 16 Lowered the distance of the lights for my 5 gallons to 12". I have a sneaking suspicion that some of the stunted growth is due to a light deficit. I have two lights in my grow tent: Phlizon 600W LED (https://www.amazon.com/Phlizon-Thermometer-Humidity-Adjustable-Spectrum/dp/B0752CL6KJ) and CREE CXB3590 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08B8T8C72). The Phlizon light sits over my 5 gallon pots while my CREE light is above my bonsai plants. The CREE light appears much brighter and the plant in the 5 gallon pot closest to that light appears to do noticeably better. I've started rotating the positions of my plants so they each get equitable access to light around the tent. I didn't water again today - the soil still felt moist from the watering on 11/28. 12/1 - Day 17 I mixed a gallon of distilled water with a half dose Cal-Mag and a half dose of FF Big Bloom. These nutes had no effect on the pH of the water. I gave the 5 gallon pots about a liter (half gallon) each using a pressurized hand sprayer. The pots were pretty soaked with water but did not produce any runoff. I watered the bonsai until they were soaked through and had some runoff. Later in the afternoon, I could already see a noticeable effect in growth. 12/2 - Day 18 First 5 pointed fan leaves were fully sprouted! Soil was somewhat moist from yesterday so decided to hold off on watering. 12/3 - Day 19 Today was a watering day. I gave my 5 gallon pots 40oz of distilled water each and 8oz of distilled water to my bonsais. I used a watering can this time focusing on the base of my plant and then trying to disperse an even amount around the edges. The soil in my 5 gallons was mostly dry but the 40oz of water didn't produce any runoff upon watering. Despite trying to moderate the water flow on my bonsais, the 8oz did produce a small amount of runoff. All the plants look happy and healthy. 12/5 - Day 21 Watered again today using the remaining half gallon of distilled water with a half dose Cal-Mag and a half dose of FF Big Bloom. I split most of the water between my 5 gallons - roughly 1 qt per 5 gallon and the remaining water on the bonsais. Plants still look happy and healthy.

Hi mate, the first thing that come to mind when i saw your leaves is overwater. This droopiness to me is a sign that the plant in not getting oxygen. From the large fan leaf on the pic see that there is also a ph imbalance. So my course of action would be, first to let the soil dry out, and see if the leaves go back to their normal position (like praying) all up. Then I would flush the medium with a phed water. If all go well those leaves that were affected wont recover but the plant will

I love the bonsai pot idea! I’ll be checking in on this, I got the same ILGM zkittlez auto seeds in an comparison between a 5 gallon pot and 1 qt pot going right now.. good luck. PS I’ve never used FF ocean forest but my understanding is it is quite “hot” or full of a lot of fertilizers so that could have been the issue in the beginning. My understanding is that the seedling has all it needs nutrient wise stored within itself for the first 7-10 days at least.

@SmokeableHobby, yeah that green wire is def my favorite way to train for sure. Experimenting with different training techniques is fun too.. just different ideas and ways to get light to the lower canopy and manipulate the natural structure/growth of the plant in general. Let me know if you need any ideas

@Ezzjaybruh, I do the exact same thing...just sit in front of my tent and stare mindlessly at my plants. Meditating on their progress. I took your advice and ordered some of the green training wire - great stuff! Started experimenting with LST. Will post my progress in the next week.

@SmokeableHobby, hahaha good point.. I was the same way on my first grow, peeking under my DWC at the roots every hour and sometimes just still just sit in front of the tent doing nothing but staring at them. As far as LST products, the main thing is being able to secure whatever you are using to the pot, and that may be hard with those bonsai pots.. I just use the green plastic coated wires, they are real nice. Then there are these cool yo yo type devices I got on Amazon that you can attach to the poles on your tent and they have like fishing wire you connect to your plant..

@Lazuli, I also had a CREE COB LED (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08B8T8C72) in the tent that put off another 100w. I was using this light exclusively for my bonsais but then my 5 gallons grew way bigger than I thought they would and ended up using the CREE for supplemental light once I was a week or two into flower.

Looking good! I’ve personally started to wait until the bottom of the plant has a bit more rigidity such that it can remain somewhat upright while the top nodes are bent over - before I start training but certainly no harm starting early! It all depends what you are trying to accomplish - even tho frankly I’m usually just winging it and seeing how it reacts haha. It is amazing how quickly they tilt back up towards the light tho huh?

@Ezzjaybruh, appreciate the encouragement, I sure hope it clears up. Learning a lot from this experience but will be really bummed if I can't turn things around before harvest. Feels like these deficiencies came out of nowhere and at the worst possible time. Hope things turn around for you as well!

I swear it’s crazy the few times I’ve gone on a vacay for even days while growing, my plants seem to thrive and grow quicker.. probably just in my head but it’s always cool to not see them for a few days and return to see all the growth that has occurred. Looking good tho!

@Ezzjaybruh, you're so right - I had that same thought when I came back and saw the progress. It's kind of a ego-check. Here I am paying all this attention to my plants, thinking I am curating conditions for their optimal growth and then I come back after a few days of basically ignoring them and they look better than ever. I suppose it is called "weed" for a reason. It will grow despite our best efforts...not necessarily because of them haha. Gotta admit the week 8 report for your 5g Zkittlez has me feeling all kinds of impatient. Love seeing those calyxes and sugar leaves starting to frost up... an encouraging sign of things to come!
