Let the soil dry out for a day or two. Soil will shrink. Get a larger pot. Fill the soil in with your current pot (and plant in it. Remove current pot. Perfect hole. Re- plant. Enjoy.

hey there, this is totally normal for a healthy root system in a confined space. In nature the plant keeps growing and growing its roots. Here they will find the space to continue to grow once they hit the walls so eventually they will go to the holes and keep growing. The only problem is that they dont like air and they dont like light lol, so what will happen is they will naturally "prune" their own selves. Actually this is a technique called "air pruning" , the other style of this technique is just like using scissors to cut the roots off ! So no stress, hope this helps ! 🚀
