Why are my 2 plants growing high and not wide?

Hi! Looks like your plants are stretching because they're not getting adequate light. Either lower the lamp or add some additional bulbs depending on what works in your setup. CFL bulbs can be as close as 3-4 inches as long as your grow space stays cool. LEDs are a bit trickier to gauge in terms of distance, but just keep playing around until you figure it out. If the light is too close, you'll start seeing signs of light/heat burn such as taco'ing leaves, bleaching of the leaves nearest the light or leaves that curl upward on the ends. The slow growth is likely due to inadequate light as well. Giving each plant its own container will become necessary at some point too.

Hi @Jerryhype! Your must decrease your plant<--->light distance, to get bushy plants and avoid vertical stretch. Your light is probably not powerful enough, what kind of lamp are you using? Also, aluminium foil is known to burn leaves with powerful lights, be careful about this. Finally, having 2 plants in a single container always lead to issues, you may consider splitting in 2 containers, or at least divide the medium in 2 parts with a physical barrier. The stretch you are seeing can be for quite a few reasons: (i) low lights out temperatures, (ii) low amount of light or light too far from plants. If you are using a CFL, you might want to change and use a scew in LED, they will work much better like I do.

Hello @Jerryhype ! That's because they trying to reach the light. That means 2 things. Either your lights are to far from the plant or your lights are very weak. At the first case place the lights closer to the plant ( but be careful with the heat ) or at the second case you have to use more lights. Also i see that you are growing 12/12 from seed. That means less DLI ( Daily Light Integral ) for the plant and also a stretch because its getting at the flowering mode. At this stage your DLI should have been minimum at 15 mol/m2/d. For the technique you are trying to do ( original SOG ) you need to give them a lot of light from the second week of their life or they stretch a lot and i really mean a lot.... Happy growing ! 👊

Hi, Your Girls Have a lack of Light. For each Girl i recommend you (minimum) 100 Watts until the end of grow. And another thing is suboptimal for the Ladies. they are into one pot. The roots may web together and both stay small. There are different helping sites that may help you on the search for the right light

hey Jerry your lamp is like a CFL or something which is just a tad not strong enough for your ladies so that's why they're stretching, you're going to want to add lux either with an extra flood light (also CLF), or an LED spot light, you can get either of those for less that 25 dollars on amazons 🚀

Hello ! It's because your light is too high so they need to stretch to reach up the light ! Low the light a bit. The distance between your ladies and your light will depend on your light source. Are you using bulbs ? Hope it will help you 👍😁
