Hi, From my experience I’d flush for 10-14 days. Depending on growing medium. Hydro only need 5 days give or take. I’d personally say it’s important to do so to get the best taste out of your product. Flushing will help aid your plant in using up the remainder of nutes/food in your plants leaves as they act as food stores for photosynthesis to occur and what not. But keeping it short and sweet and on topic you’ll notice you’re plant going through a fade and leaves yellowing, that’s a good sign and an indicator that the plant has used up all its food. Flushing definitely requires you to put excessive amounts of water through your growing medium depending on what your pot sizes are. Remember your flushing the medium of nutrients and whatever else built up in your medium not just watering it

I use Biobizz, I've done no flush with no adverse effects, since it's not chemical. I prefer one of the following, no flush but feed pure water for 2 weeks, or flush and pure water for 1 week.
