Question about ventilation

Kdog20
Kdog20started grow question 4 years ago
I have a 200cm tall tent with a carbon filter connected to an extracter fan/ duct leaving the top corner of my tent. I have no intake air fan connected, although the walls of the tent are bending inward- should I add an intake fan in the bottom of the tent?

Nobody01's answer is pretty close to what I was going to say, but it all depends on what you want to do, if smell is not an issue, I prefer having the tent at positive pressure so everything blows out, helps keeps dust and debris down. If smell is a concern than you'd want negative pressure as Nobody was mentioning. Fan pushing into the tent = positive pressure, fan pulling out of the tent = negative pressure. If you are going to have an intake and an exhaust, make sure they are variable so you can adjust inflow/outflow to your liking. I run an intake and exhaust on variables and it gives me a lot of control over the temp/humidity if needed.

Please, don't select this as the answer, as i am not eligible for the ongoing contest If you want smell to be contained, you want slight negative pressure, otherwise it will leak into room/house/aparment - which would defeat the whole purpose of a carbon filter. As long as you feel air being pulled in when you open up a zipper, at least initially with a small gap, then all is good. It should not be a strong pull. Simply make sure it's not being forced out when you open it up. The 200cfm with a filter and hopefully mulple bends in the ductwork, if it can let light in, will ikely make "too much negative pressure" virtually impossible with a typical exhaust fan.
