Defoliation for Autoflowering in Flowering stage

Abavastarted grow question 4 years ago
Hi everyone! I'd like to defoliate my girl, but she turned into flowering mode just recently. Is it feasible to defoliate to open up more bud sites or better leave as it is considering that she's an autoflowering? She looks pretty healthy.

Damn. Do not touch girl in first two weeks of flower !!!! You should prepare her earlier, but .. Wait till bud sites are formed, its usually a window from day 15 to 21. For starting grower i would go on 18-20 day of flower. Don't water girl till work is finished, less breakings. Don't feed her, just plain water, less stress Leave at least one nod of fully formed leaves counting from top. If you have one formed and 4 more forming, still leave that fully formed leave set. Normally you trim all leaves from about 3-4 nod. Check my 8 sisters diary. Week 3 and 6 of flower. 2 heavy waves with explanations. When you will be working with girls dont even breath on flower sites ;))) really, you have to touch girl without touching. All the best for You !

Hey Growmie, Since your plant just started flowering it will be fine just do it a little at a time and don't continue defoliation after week 3 of flower. I use this process of defoliation all the time on my autoflowers and it works like a charm. Hopefully, I answered your question and remember ..."Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".

In the first 2 weeks of flowering it still really grows and recovers pretty fast. Just don’t overdo the defoliating. The less the better. Just cut off the leaves that catch not much light. Also, better leave too much on your plant, than cut off too much. Your plant looks fine! I wouldnt trim alot. Good luck

I would just tuck leaves in now. Less stress is best. Cheers
