You can put them in the buckets but . The thing you wanna keep in mind is the root system . With that being said the first question you should ask yourself is will your roots reach the water in the bucket . If not you might wanna water them by hand until they do . You can speed up the root growth with many variety's of nutrient line ups . Using products like this will do 2 things , increase the nutrient uptake as well as promote mega root growth ! But for now i highly recommend hand feeding your baby if your going to put her in the bucket until she gets a kick ass root mass going . I hope this information is useful in your quest to understanding when you can use your buckets ! -Happy Growing!

I'm in the middle of my first DWC grow and this is how I started them off:
1. Germinated in Peat jiffy pellets (they come flat and you hydrate them into a cylinder shape)
2. Once roots were showing through the bottom of the jiffy pellets I put them in the buckets and hand watered until the roots were showing through the net pots. The nutrient level was about 2cm below the bottom of the net pots. I only had to hand water for about 3 days. You can see in my diary the plants went ballistic.
Do you have lots of bubbles from your air stone? My pots are bubbling very vigorously and the popping bubbles helped keep the clay pellets in the net pots pretty wet.

Good luck with the grow!

You can put it in the bucket now if you want, but you will have to hand water the net pot (and rock wool cube) until the roots are long enough to reach the water level in the bucket. Once that happens, you will see explosive growth.
