Indoor growers, what's your favorite node to top? 😊 Do you prefer topping above the 2nd node for 4 big colas ("uncle ben method"), or the 3rd, 4th, ..., for a bushier plant? . Please share your opinion if you have tried some methods πŸ‘

Nice question BillMonroe! The first thing I look at is the photoperiod of the plant. With Normal Photoperiod plants how much time you spend waiting for a recovery is your only enemy and you can always rely on controlling the light cycle to extend the veg time. With this in mind I personally top early between the 2nd/3rd node with 5 finger leaves so I can train the plant down short as early as possible. Its all about preference and how much time you are willing to spend for recovery. If you don't have much time, waiting till the 4th/5th node can lead to a faster recovery. With Autoflowers I only top healthy plants by cutting the third node with 5 finger leaves off leaving two 5 finger leaf nodes (see week 4 day 23 my Green Crack Auto). Most people don't top Autos, however I find it to be successful on a healthy plant. Your plant is looking healthy and clean friend! Best of luck! 😎

Hi @BillMonroe! I always top at node nΒ°3. With autos, I top the 3rd node as soon as it is old enough to be cut properly (Usually by the end of week 2). With photoperiodic strains, I let the plant grow the 4th and even the 5th node, before topping at the 3rd one. This way, the recovery is much faster and you don't see any negative effect / stunt growth. Pruning what's left under your topping is up to you, I do it with photos, and usually avoid to do it on autos. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing πŸ‘Š

Super Silver Haze is a Very Vigor Strain you can Top, fimm and LST multiple, I would wait for the next node and start. I grow her outdoors and topped and Fimmed her only one time before she came into garden. Every training is worth ,to do on her. Happy growing

Hello ! To me it depends on how long you want to keep her in vegetative stage ( generally short for sativa) because each new topping will need a recovery time for your plant so the more you top and the more she needs to recover but in your case with a super silver haze I think she will be vigorous between 2 topping. It also depend on your grow space as the more you will top and the larger she will be ( with a bit of LST ) so you will need less top to cover your grow area in small tent en less time to fill the space. I hope it will help you 😁✌️🏼
