I’m doing DWC buckets. I’m 5 weeks into veg and need to top up the water occasionally. Should I be pumping the old water out every so often and putting new solution in, or do you guys just keep topping with ph’d nute water? If you do swap out the water, what’s your procedure?

Hey there @CrazyDaver nice question! With individual DWC 5 gallon reservoirs like myself and you use you absolutely do want to be topping off the water daily as to ensure the proper Nutrient to water ratio, however you do not want to keep the same nutrients in the reservoirs for longer than a week. A completely reservoir swap every 7 days is highly recommended and usually comes with the change in nutrient schedule as well. If you have any more questions feel free to ask them! 😎

Hi @Crazydaver! You must fill in your reservoir with a new solution every 5~10 days to prevent any bacteria from developing and to refresh the nutrients for your plant... Changing it every 7 days makes sense, because you can adjust your feedings according to a weekly schedule. It's better to change it sooner rather than later, but once a week should suffice in most of the cases. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

Hello ! Generally in hydro you need to change all the solution every 2 weeks. It's because of the serval PH and Ec adjustment and also at some crucial moment of the plant life : when you change from veg to bloom nuts and when you flush you need to fully remove the solution. I hope it will help you 😁✌️🏼

You want to get rid of the water every 9 to 10 days or so to prevent the nitrates from basically rotting and causing problems. changing the water every week is considered too frequent 10 days should be okay, but you need to make sure you dont need to do it sooner. Just take the "used" water and either throw it away or use it on your garden plants - they love that! hope this helps ! 🚀
