In Split Harvesting, what about all the things youre told to do when harvesting, i.e. 48 hrs darkness, hanging upside down drying, ect. OR, is all of those things OLD WIVES TALES ? If I cut the tall colas, do I treat them somewhat the same....Hang till dry, cont. to grow lower ?

Hi there! When split harvesting you cant do those tricks but sure you can hang upside down to dry still and that is probably just convenient and it has nothing to do with the "thc from stems flowing to the buds" or anything else. What comes to the darkness before harvest this is the only documented stuff I've found and it shows that it really does help with THC content but it raises ~2% so you don't have to worry that much maybe? Do what best suits your need and I think you will be happy with the results

Hanging upside down helps to get rid of red spider mites as they will follow gravity and go up always. If you hang the other way, they will all move to your top bud and that will be really gross. Also helps slowing down the dry, helpful if you live in a very dry place. Drying in the dark definitely helps, as there are many papers showing THC in trichomes gets regenerated during the night and actually THC peaks during the night just before lights on. Happy smokes!

Most of those things are old wives tales or, at least, have little to no evidence to show they work. Hanging upside down is just convenient and makes a prettier bud compared to a wire rack. Even flushing isn't shown to accomplish anything positive. Do your split harvest but don't worry about these other things. Hang upside down is a dark space with a temp of 70°F or so and 45-55% RH.
