Hello I am growing Gorilla glue #4 and I am wondering if anyone has used the Mars hydro ts 1000 watt system, I am really confused on lighting as there is so much! My main concern is hydro cost while maintaining yield

What’s the concern? I have a mars ts1000 and two ts600s. I am currently running a fast buds gorilla glue under the ts1000. Have it at 75% and half strength as it’s a seedling. Once in flower, the ts will cover 2-3 plants depending on pot size 2x2. If cost is an issue—- buy 2 ts600s for $140 and get a 2x4 area for flower. The power isn’t a concern.

You want your lights to be like 2 ft max away from your plants, if they are hanging almost 8 feet above the tops and you have an entire basement youre going to need a TON of light to flower. Veg not so much, but youre talking about spending your whole budget on lights that still might not be enough depending on what your area looks like. For vegging though Ive heard of people getting away with the 8 watt regular basement ceiling tube lights, but those aint gunna cut it for flower. My 3x3 tent has 3 100$ lights that cover the area well, and can fit about 3 maybe 4 flowering plants depending on size. A decent benchmark is 35 watts/sqft if youre getting leds for flower.

I like spider farmer, the 1000 is a good light for a 3x3 tent. The price for what you get is great, its a good light for people looking for great performance for a decent price.

Just go by DLI or watts/sqft. Mars hydro 1000 isnt 1000 true watts though, their site says its "150 watts true output with 342 pcs LEDs". Whether or not that is enough for you depends on the space youre growing in. Mars hydro is also a brand name, there are plenty of other options that might be a little cheaper depending on how you get them.
