Since you ask, I'll assume you don't have a plan for what you want from your plant, and I'll recommend you don't do it.
However. You can.. It'll slow the growth of the plant, especially growth coming above the leaves you cut, so if you're okay with that, then go ahead.
- If It's an auto tho, I'd say a definite no tho. You'd just get a tiny plant if you took them now. But If it's a photo, you can have it vegging as long as you want, so a slowed growth can have benefits depending on your plans for it.
All that said.. Don't be afraid to experiment. Failure is just as valuable as success, if you learn from it and improve based on what you've learned
