It's more akin to topping... by damaging the terminal node, it'll cause auxin to spread below on that brachn, which will spur on growth.
supercropping invovled breaking a branch, usually one that has grown too tall relative to canopy or simply not enough space, and then taped / mended/ shaped to grow horizontally. I'd reserve that for times of need.
use the screen to spread out plant to fill space you intend, then let it grow vertically. Try to get 1 cola per 4-6" x 4-6" slot. Helps organize and ensure you have spacing around each for proper airflow.
I have not tried a squeezing technique. it should be near top... probably want some squish but not total vascular tissue damage. that one is new to me, but does work.
Backbuilding (thnk i got name right) is another option to look into.. you can take off a portion at top and like topping, it'll cause an increase in growth below.
