How to save a broken branch?

MonkeyGrower
MonkeyGrowerstarted grow question 2 years ago
I shook the pot's stand, and 1 wire dropped to the ground and broke a branch. It looks nice and if prop up it - can't even see the breakpoint. What should I do to increase the chances that the branch will grow back? The Red line marks where it was broken (the 2nd layer).

If you do nothing, the plant/branch will continue to grow as though nothing at all has ever happened. Cannabis is a remarkably tough and resilient plant and its powers of recovery are incredible. I have had stems hanging by "threads" that continued to grow as normal, even though more than 75% of the branch was ripped/torn - I really must post some pictures of this to illustrate how incredible cannabis plants are. Anyway, whatever you do, do not put tape on it or cover it with anything, this can just cause issues with mould/fungus, due to moisture building up underneath any sort of applied cover. Really, in this case, do nothing would be my advice, the plant will heal itself perfectly.

If you need to tape it up may I suggest surgical tape, the stuff used to hold bandages on. Very porous tape and helps prevent any fungus/mold. It also stretches as the branch swells.

Grab some tape of any kind - I've used electrical tape, masking tape, even duct tape - others have used plumbers tape (that seals threads in plumbing) - it really doesn't matter ... tape it up and she'll be fine as long as the break was not a COMPLETE break.... but do it now! If required, you may want to also put a splint on the branch (if it's a really heavy one but it doesn't look like it would be...) Good luck - and don't worry!
