whats a good distance in from the canopy in the flowering stage for the 900w (385 actual) Mars Hydro?

Go a bit away with it and move it everytime a bit closer till the plant shows negative reactions. I never used a Mars Hydro but i would suggest a distance about 30cm (+/- 5cm). I would start with 40cm and move it slowly closer👍
