I have a question about what the general consensus is on calculating final dry weights and factoring the amount of light used and square feet taken to grow plants. Do you weigh with stems or without? Total light in tent and total space in tent divided by # of plants?

I don't go for contest. And my stash is way to much already. So, my dry weight is without the stem. I worry about rot, so I dried harder than most people would. My ratio of wet to dry weight is somewhere between 7:1 to 9:1. Its depend on the plant structure. And that is from strains, the type of additives, and the season.

if you have separate diaries, i'd split it up so math comes out right... i don't think there are hard rules on how to weigh it beyond basics. those stats are more of an e-peen, but I intend to keep it accurate at least for a few grows as i adjust things... one more metric to look at.

yeah man exactly , so for example in a 4x4 i can fit 9 5 gallon pots so when i harvest my 5 gallon plant i divide the sq.ft.-age by the number of plants in this case 9, total light used is the largest amount of W used in my case 600W. Wet weight is basically everything on the branch, dry weight is without stems and manicured bud. The site calculates the rest for you. hope this helps bro ! 🚀

Hi @Silverback_Guerilla! Wet weight usually includes stems, whereas dry weight is for flowers only. Total dried product weight ÷ Total lamp wattage = Yield per watt of light. Hope this makes sense, enjoy your harvest! 👊

Generally, the estimate depends on the type of light. 0.25g/w for fluorescent, 0.5g/w for HPS and Blurple leds(actual draw wattage not advertised wattage), 1g/w for CMH and High-end white leds. Space only matters as mush as if you have enough light for the space you are filling. I weigh once the final trim has been finished.
