Old School outdoor Grower. First time indoor Grow, first time using tents. Any and all advice along this way is welcomed.
Some questions I have now are...
1. When should I switch form my CFL lights to my HPS's
2. Should I think about switching from HPS to LED's?

Ik geef even mee wat ik denk🙂
1 : Ik vind CFL lampjes goed voor de groei te begeleiden, niet geschikt voor de bloei.
Ik zou verkiezen om de omschakeling te doen als je naar bloeiperiode overgaat.
2 : Tegenwoordig word er inderdaad veel gewerkt met LED.
Het is veel energiezuiniger, wat niet onbelangrijk is, zeker als je gewend bent om buiten te kweken.
Het word niet te warm, wat ik ook een groot voordeel vind.
Tenslotte gaan de lampen langer mee.
Als je voor LED zou kiezen investeer dan wel in een goede lamp met voldoende watt.
HPS lampen zijn natuurlijk de old skool keuze😉
Ze zijn goedkoper, maar hebben een grotere kracht (al is een kwalitatieve LED lamp tegenwoordig ook niet te onderschatten!).
Wel kunnen ze best warm worden, waardoor je op moet gaan letten in je tent.
Én ze verbruiken best wel veel tegenover een LED.
Ik zou dus de overstap durven maken naar LED, als je het budget hebt om een deftige lamp aan te kopen.

Stick with your HPS lights and grow photo period plants would be my suggestion. Unless you buy mega buck LED lights, HPS will shit on a cheap LED light. Photo period plants are far superior to auto flowers and can give you yields that auto flowers could only dream about, all while using less electricity.
CFLs don't really cut it when it comes to the prime production of flowers.

I use led start to finish. I started using cfl on clones, then just used MH or led as it was a ball ache keep swapping bulbs. I can't recommend switching to led enough. Lots of pitfalls, don't buy chinese and don''t buy blurple. I'd check out invisible sun, migro or vividled if you're in the uk. If US budget led, tighter buds, lower heat less electric, more bang for your buck. Just do some research before jumping in. Find something specific you may want and ask someone in the know 'Is this light good or shit' lol, good luck mate

Should I use the VEG lights 24x7 from the time I plant my seed until it's ready to bloom, or would something like 18 hours on and 6 hours off make more sense? Is there a "best practice" for veg lighting? It has worked for my first 3 grows. VIPARSPECTRA 600W LED

Light intensityMy plants have been looking sad for a couple weeks. Tried everything then the other night I turned my light down to 40% giving a DLI of 28 they perked right up with 24 hours. I have now put it up to 60% giving a DLI off 39 will this be ok or should I keep it low. Week 2 flower.

what ppfd for 20/4 autoflower?Just bought the FC-4800 and before this I had always measured my light using inches away from canopy however I want to learn how to use the light using PPFD. I have found average measurements online but what should I aim for for a 20/4 autoflower schedule please?
