Pull the fans?

Do I remove the large and kinda beat up fan leaves now, or do I leave them? I would like to flower in the next week to 10 days. What does everyone think? This is my very first grow ever, and I'm open to any input. Amitabha!

Thank you for your all your time and input. I realize the limitations with my set up. I have no delusions of granduer of an epic crop. This was a winter project when I wasn't working, so everything was done on an extreme budget. The bag seeds presented me with an economical method of learning about the cultivation and possibly some trouble shooting before I invest a great deal of time and money into a legit setup. This is all about learning and having fun. Switched to 18/6 already the way you framed it was perfect. Thanks again!!! Amitabha!

Leaving all healthy green leaves in place, would be my advice. Remember, less/fewer healthy green leaves = less energy production = less growth. Or to put it another way, - - Maximum healthy green leaves = maximum energy production = maximum growth potential. Also, cannabis performs best with an 18/6 light schedule, no plant ever has evolved with a completely unnatural 24 hour light cycle. All plants need to "sleep" and undertake certain metabolic processes they can not do during the lights on/day time. 24 hour light will result in exhausted plants with possibly incomplete terpene and cannabinoid profiles due to not having their "sleep" cycle. 18/6 has been derived at over countless scientific experiments undertaken over the last 80+ years and is not a random number. Your plants will grow just as fast at 18/6 and be far happier and far healthier if given their daily "sleep" time. Cannabis can only grow so much in any 24 hour period and for cannabis, this period is about 18 hours, before growth tops out, meaning running your lights any longer than 18 hours is basically a waste of electricity. I like to think of their 6 hours sleep as - 2 hours to rest, 2 hours to repair and 2 hours to get ready for the day ahead. This is basically what does happen during the "sleep" time and thrashing anything living thing at maximum speed, continuously, for 24 hours a day, will lead to something "giving". In the case of your cannabis plants, what "gives" from having a totally unnatural continuous day for weeks/months on end, will probably be flower quality. Be kind to your plants and give them the sleep they are "designed" to have and I am certain you will get much kinder flowers that you will be proud of, rather than harvesting tired, exhausted and thrashed out "product" with possibly incomplete terpenes and cannabinoids, due to not having the sleep they require to function properly and also how they have evolved to perform. You will still get the same growth with 18/6, but your plants will be much more normal with a sleep cycle. Also, your plants look a bit thirsty to me, as well as slightly over fed and suffering with poor air circulation. The way the leaves are drooping suggest dehydration, whilst the cupping shape indicates "heat stress" brought on by lack of air movement causing retarded transpiration and the very green colour indicating too much nutrients, especially nitrogen. Your diaries have little information regarding feeding schedules, but young plants need young plant feeding and more often than not, quarter to half strength is plenty. The fact you are growing in an old aquarium with no outlets would explain the lack of air replacement/exchange, so you might have to have a re-think of what you can do there. This may seem like a lot of criticism, but I don't want your grow to be less than it could be with the addition of a few easy refinements, your harvest should be vastly improved and your plants far happier and healthier. Having your plants in a non-ventilated glass aquarium is not an ideal situation, so you might have to invest in a tent for future grows if you are keen to continue with growing your own supply. Besides, having the lights on the outside means losing a fair amount of light that actually reaches your plants, due to reflection and refraction caused by the light passing through the glass, meaning your plants are missing out on a great deal of light and you are paying the electricity for lights that are only achieving 60-75% efficiency. Another thing, since you are growing "bag seed", be aware that "bag seeds" are usually the result of female flowers having produced male flowers that have then pollinated themselves, a hermaphroditic condition, meaning seeds from these plants have a greater risk of being hermaphrodites themselves and also carry the risk of having "inbred" genetics, whereby recessive and undesirable genes once again become dominant through gene recombination, resulting in inferior offspring. If you are lucky, your plants may be perfectly normal and healthy, but "bag seeds" do carry greater risks of having genetic mutations. Like most things in life, you can not expect AAA outcomes with skimping and by using B grade ingredients. Harsh indeed, but better to hear this now than get pissed off when harvest time comes and not all is as hoped for. If you want to grow successfully, you will need to spend some money and provide your plants with the best possible environment in which to grow them, they will only perform to the standard that they are receiving. You can't dress a Motor Scooter with a body kit and expect to beat Valentino Rossi in Moto GP. So it is with growing, you will only get out of it, what you put in. The worst thing that can happen is for you to get discouraged by the results and give growing away. With a few tweaks here and there, you will be on the path to overwhelming success. Hope this helps,........ Organoman.
