Something grows out there even though it has been topped and it only grows very slowly compared to the others. should we leave it on or remove it?

Topping at two weeks?I wonder what the effect of topping so early will have? Week two is pretty unconventional, with most preferring 3-5 weeks. She seems pretty happy though. Hopefully this will give maximum uninterrupted ( minus of course the LST ) veg time now.Week 2

Should I defoliate after topping with LST ?I just did my first topping and she took it very well, no signs of stress and actually growing really fast I think.
I was thinking about LST the top colas so the lower ones can reach that height, should I cut the top leaves shadowing the lower future colas?5y ago

Topped the same way with 2 different results?? First time growerI tried to top 2 plants in the same way but one main shoot stopped growing, but the other had two new growths come right out of the old stem, as well as 2 bushier side stems.
I am just wondering what I did differently and if both plants should work out fine.
