Root rot or not?I can’t tell if this is normal discoloration or starting signs of root rot. Running Orca, Roots Excellurator silver, hydroguard and z7, res temps have drifted around 72-75f when my chiller was down for the first week, have since kept it at 68f. Would greatly appreciate some help.

I think I had a common problems with my LSD-25: the water level. Did I have to set my water level just below the tip of the roots when they appeared? I had nice roots the 1st week, I set my water to keep the roots in the water but she looked like she drowning.

Is this root rot, could it be an excess of nutrients? How can I fix this from happening.I have some root issues, I recently upped the PPM in my tank, and since then my roots have started going very brown. Brownish red algae like substance in DWC within 48 hrs- plants look great thoI’ve done DWC several times, not a newbie. Getting pH spikes from 6.0 to just under 7.0 in 48 hrs, and an algae like dark brown/reddish substance within 48hrs as well. New stones, black buckets, 950 GPH pump feeding 1 stone per bucket. Net pots covered with cardboard. What gives?
