Should I be worried? Is this a beginning of root rot? This one may go in a week to a bigger pot.

The brown colouration is from the air drying the roots out. The roots have developed a kind of "callous" due to being exposed to the air. Nothing to worry about, all will be well once you transplant her. This should be done sooner rather than later, by the way. Hope this helps.... Organoman.

It looks like it could be the start of something potentially bad, but you can sort that out easily - when you transplant, perhaps try a soil innoculant, make sure you have good drainage, some beneficial fungi like mycorrhizae or trichoderma (or both!) and those roots will be happy again! It’s not the beginning of root rot, but it is an indication that it’s time to transplant to a bigger pot. I would do this ASAP so it doesn’t get stunted from root blockage. Cheers💨

This time I waited even 3/4 between waterings (half liter for plant) but soil never ever dried properly. Next time I'll use Light mix, grow shop pots and practice patience. Is this root rot, could it be an excess of nutrients? How can I fix this from happening.I have some root issues, I recently upped the PPM in my tank, and since then my roots have started going very brown. PPM was at 900 when this issue appeared, so i reduced and is around 690 Ph is 5.8, - OUTDOOR DWC

Root rot in (re-used) coco?Medium: coco/perlite (65/35), 25L AirRap pots. Re-used from last grow after 2 months drying followed by rinsing all the cocodust away. Hey Guys, So I've been putting house and gardens amino treatment and root accelerator gold into my res and now I'm paranoid I have root rot. res is hella cold at 63 usually and they don't seem to be slimy aside from the gunk on them that I think is those additives. Is it normal?4 years ago
