My question is for Promix growers, what do you use as additives? We've been using promix for about 3years now and just experimented with adding a 1" layer of composted manure, they didn't seem to respond well to this.what could we add to sustain them for the first month of veg? 😺

you can use dry amendments like " EASY BOOST ORGANIC NUTRIENTS" Or Biotabs or From Greenhouse SeedsCompany the Organic Nutrition you can mix them into the soil..... I testted them all, but i started the Seedlings in a Lightmix, then I transplanted them into the Amended soil ( 21 days later) because i was afrraid of to much Nitrogen

Which Pro-Mix are you using? Organic soil? BX? HP? I have also been experimenting and reading about the Micorrhizae. I used Pro-Mix "Organic" last year, which is "self feeding" for 3 months.. had really great results and was very cost effective. Probably switching to Pro-Mix BX this year, with Gia Green to keep it organic. Would love to hear what you are you are using and how it's worked. And, I would also like you to have a great 4/20! Cheers man.

I make homemade compost and mix it with the promix. I compost cabbage, spinach, dandelion greens and leaves around my yard. A nice organic mix with lots of microbes. Enjoy the process.

I thought all Promix (brand) was peat based?...we typically use Promix Bx or HP which contains mycorrhizal fungi, we add 20% perlite (10% to HP) ,lime to buffer and feed exclusively from bottles.. our goal is to continue to use Promix but not have to support the plants with bottled nutrients within their first week of growth..it would be nice to amend the media in a way that sustains the plant for their first 5 weeks of veg or better. I figured anyone who grows exclusively with Promix (brand) has asked themselves this exact question and was curious what they use?

wich ppromix do you mean=? the plagron promix, is just peatmoss and yes you have to ferttilise or mix your stuff into,,, peatmoss by itself is like a" swamp" and has no nutrients I did grow into and it worked welll, but i lke it more comfortabel, so i mixed it with my soilmix ( for fluffyness and drainage) and soem dry amendment called " easy boost organic nutrition) other wisee you have to grow into like soilless, ( coco) that means adding the nutes
