I use to germinate with 16/20h in a water and then straight in the soil. Everyone know seed which float on the water should be not a GOOD QUALITY seed but this basically it’s happening with all the seed bank and the result is 90%always positive. Any infos ??

It doesent matter weather it sinks or floats the only reason it would sink would be if there is a way for the water to get into the seed hence weighing it down making it sink. I use this method of germination but you only want to use this much water when you are trying to get her to "pop" then as soon as she has you can pop her on a more appriopriate medium like kitchen roll or cotton wool with alot less water. Any kind of seed will float for the fist time in water unless there is a crack in it somewhere after around 12 hours you will find a slight tap ontop of the seed will force it under and this is because in that the time the water has moisted the husk to allow it to absorb some water hence sinking. Germination is probably the most tricky part of growing and the most important as the plants are so fragile at this stage its very easy to give her too much or too little. too much water she will drown not enough she will dry out. anyway I'm sure you know all this best of luck :)

Like UK said - give it a tap and it should sink. Its just surface tension, if it doesnt pop use the matchbox technique (take the sandpaper off the side and wedge it inside under the flaps of the sliding draw, put seed in, close the box and give it a few shakes) - we used to do that out in Egypt cause for some reason the seeds from the bush out there were hard as hell and wouldnt crack without doing that. On my first indoor grow at moment and it's hella different but the technique should work the same.

My only two cents is that using a damp paper towel, using RO water, fold it, place the seed(s) in there. Then put that in a zip lock bag, half closed, on top of a germinating warming pad, at 76-78f.... has had 98% germination rates for me, within 48 hours. I once forgot about one strain sitting in a bag on the pad for about 5 days and when I opened the bag and towel, the seedling was about 3-5" long and started pushing root hairs into the the towel.

All seeds are different and have used that principle with vegetable seeds but hemp has obviously evolved to survive so the plant lives on...in nature....Mother natures gift to the world
