Would it be worth it for me to go and buy a CFL bulb at a DIY store while I wait for the sun to come back? Or is it not good to have 2 different types of lighting (sun and cfl bulb)? And what kind of cfl bulb I could take?

Hi Bro, I always alternate sunlight and artificial light at beginning and for all seedlings stage. My girls seem to love this. CFL bulbs work on for 1/2 weeks. This year I've bought on AE some interesting led lamps for less than 20 bucks, 28W (declared) full spectrum, E27. These are visible on my new diaries so U can judge if they work or not alternated to sunlight. Remember the rule "not less than 15000 lumen". Cheers

I'm on my first indoor grow. Don't bother with CFL, I've got a 250w and it's a pain in the ass - get an LED instead for the same price, you'll save on energy bills. If you're in a warm climate I'd say grab a mars ts600 whilst you are waiting for the sun, low cost, low energy and definitely more bang for buck than a CFL.

The cfl bulb is very inefficient but can work in a tight spot. The light has to be within a few inches of the top of the plant so you can feel the heat of the light at plant top level. 100w + definitely needed and the more the marrier. The only other thing would be to keep the light schedule as close to what it’s use to. Hope that help and happy growing!
