Is it okay to use vinegar to lower my water ph? Anyone have any trouble with this? I don’t have ph down, wanted to make sure this was okay as an alternative

I use battery acid as an analog of pH Down. It may sound scary, but it's just sulfuric acid. Some organic acids are prone to decomposition too quickly and loss of the desired pH of the solution, so I stopped at this option. I bought it two years ago as a replacement for a short period, but I continue to use it now. Plants don't complain.

I don’t. You just use pH DOWN from GH. A few drops in the water goes a long way. I also measure pH of runoff. Sometimes root zone soil can get too acidic if not monitored. Causes nute lock. Then it calls for major flush and replenish to help stabilize.

Vinegar is better then lemon juice. The citrus will effect the microbes. Vinegar is better but evaporates fast. So it is unstable at doing the job for long person of time. I personally use a phosphorus ph reducer at the moment. If you are doing a coco grow where you constantly are adding more water and nutrition it can temporary hold you over. Beyond that it won't hold out. I went on same journey you are doing 2 years ago. Its best to do it right. Way less headache and problems from my experience. Good luck

your better off using lemon juice to lower ph instead of vinegar, at least the plant may have a lemon taste instead of the other so lemon juice is at any store

You can in a pinch, the only reason we don't use it is it isn't a stable ph reducer. Ph will drift back up rather quickly. Cheers
