MH, HPS distance?

So i am reading diaries that are using MH & HPS lights and Seeing a Distance of 10-18 inches from plant.
Are people really putting them that close during flowering stage?

Plug timer running fastMy plug timeris running about 10 fast each 24hr. And is now at about 2 hours past the actual time. This causes the light cycle to shift forward slightly everyday. Should I set it back to the correct time, leave it be or buy a new one? It is plugged vertically in wall socket.

Very technical question - LED wattage vs actual power usedMy LED is a Phlizon 600w but the power draw is only around 97w at the plug. Slight leaf tip "burn"What do you think is causing this burn on my leaves? It seems to be quite common. and maybe nothing to worry about if it's this minute. but I would prefer to not burn my plants at all if possible. Could it be a sign of underwatering? Hi, can anyone tell me if it's normal, or why those lower branches are stretching so much? I have only one 50w cob light. Which apparently produces equivalent to 150watt... Is that enough? I have only one plant and a very small grow box. Thanks for any advise :)

Downgrade my light wattage or not?My tent is 80cm x 80cm x 180cm and i use a 400w hps/mh. Based on all light calculations i came across it gives me a total requirements of light of around 160-200 watts. Should i downgrade to a 250w system or keep the 400w and why please, some expert ? I have scheduled the 8hrs sleep frm 5am-12pm (this is my sleep time) and now that I hve changed my sleep time, I would like to change their sleep time too, from 10pm to 5am. 3000 watt power useThis is my first time using such a powerful light in my opinion, 3000 watts seems overkill but that's what i want.
