MH, HPS distance?

So i am reading diaries that are using MH & HPS lights and Seeing a Distance of 10-18 inches from plant. Are people really putting them that close during flowering stage?

I have been using a 150W UFO full spectrum light in a bucket, but I have another 150w UFO light that is all red. So my question is, would it help or make any difference if I changed it?

Switching light schedule Can I turn my lights on 24hrs (currently 19 on 5 off) for the next week and then switch them back? (In week 4 of veg). Currently in a 3x3x5 tent with a light and heater and the vent open. The 5x5x7 I have is in my garage, no room in the house and 6 plants total

Are there any recommendations for a light schedule for autoflowering?I leave them at 24 hours. I start with the seedlings at 18000 Lux and increase it till the 4th week. After the 4th week I have all my lights at full power and the top buds have around 55.000 to 90.000 Lux.

Is it too late for scrog and have I had the light too low during the veg stage?So I noticed pistils appearing and now I'm worried that I've had my light too low during veg (~8k lux). Is it too late for scrog at this point or will they continue to grow? I've now bumped the light up to 22K lux should I lower the light to increase the intensity even more? TIA

light bleaching Why are my leaf tips getting bleached still? I have the light 18 inches from the canopy which is what is recommended for veg, and that's only around 400umol/m2s but the leaf tips keep burning. Temps are low if anything, consistently between 65 and 75 farenheight.
