Defoliate more?

Should I defoliate more? side branching is intense and I'm not sure if it will result in larf or actual nug. Trimmed a lot of the weak looking side braching that was not exposed to light. Still looks rather bushy for my liking but I don't want to stunt them or reduce yields.

I wouldn’t take off anymore leaves at all.. but if you are wanting to concentrate bud production up higher I would probably take some of the actual buds off of that bigger pheno you have. Just on the older lower growth, like maybe two nodes/bud sites on each branch so you still have plenty above it. That lower stuff won’t be as dense like you’re saying.. it’s up to you if you don’t mind some of the popcorn bud leave it be but if you prefer focusing on the big tops, definitely take a few lower bud sites on each branch. I usually leave like 4-6 nodes up on the top of each branch depending on the strain and how close or far the internode distance is. Good luck!

I would leave them just as they are, especially now that they are flowering, any more heavy defoliation will stress them. A small tidy up with some "lollipopping" and removal of smaller weaker growths maybe, but not too much. Just remember, - Less leaves = less energy = less growth. Removing lower growth will not cause your top buds to somehow grow extra big, they can only grow as big as their genetic potential and by the health and care you give them. There is no extra or free energy available to your plants that comes out of thin air if you remove growth, all energy is made in the leaves. Hope this helps, Organoman. (and very anti defoliation psychopath!) P.S. - forget the molasses, it really doesn't do a thing, give them fulvic, humic and amino acids for a real, actual and quantifiable benefit!

PS - if you want max yield.. I’d just say maybe lowest 2 nodes on each main branch. That won’t effect weight much at all and should be gained back up top with denser bigger bud
