Is a 600 watt hps suitable for a 80x80x160 grow tent or is that over kill thanks

yeah set it to 250w and you'll be fine.I used to use 400w in a 90x90x180 tent with cooltube,that was good too. but either way you'll need a cooltube reflector. without cooltube, temps hit 33-34C easily.

Theirs a digital dimmer which can be turned down to 250 watt would that be ok is just comes as a full set

I would say it is way too big. A 200 or 250 watt would be more appropriate in my opinion.

Bloom light on heat goes too high?When turning on the bloom setting the temps seem to be getting up to 84 on the very top of my tent and around 80-82 by the bud sites. Is this too high? Small light/ big tent I just upgraded tents. It’s a 4x4x7 foot tent. I have a Mars Hydro TS1000. I know that’s not enough for that tent. But I have a plant in its 2nd week of flower that out grew the last tent. Is it ok to just keep that light above that one plant in that size tent? Thanks!!

Best LEDs or small HID to replace 1000W dimmable HID for small space I'm using a 1000w HID setup I had from before, running at 50% in a cool tube. It's loud and not efficient. Maybe it's time I switch to LEDs or a 250 HID. I don't want to sacrifice bud quality but I'm low on funds. Any recommendations for a good light that will fill this space?

T5 vs. LED for veg?So I have a T5 light, and I’ve used it to veg quite a bit, and it does really well. My question is, should I use the T5 in just the seedling phase, then use LED for veg and flower? Or will the T5 give me good results throughout the veg cycle?

Light Science Has anyone watched some Youtube videos by Dr Bruce Bugbee from Apogee Instruments? I find his lectures on lighting to be the most straight forward explanations I have heard yet. I found his vid called "The New 400-750 nm ePAR Range Explained with Dr. Bruce Bugbee" to be eye opening on lighting colours. I have changed my LED's based on a few of his vids. He explains what plants really want and those Burple lights just don't cut it. For those that don't know he is a professor at the University of Utah that legally studies cannabis growth. He takes the science of weed grow to a whole new level.
