Is a 600 watt hps suitable for a 80x80x160 grow tent or is that over kill thanks

yeah set it to 250w and you'll be fine.I used to use 400w in a 90x90x180 tent with cooltube,that was good too. but either way you'll need a cooltube reflector. without cooltube, temps hit 33-34C easily.

Theirs a digital dimmer which can be turned down to 250 watt would that be ok is just comes as a full set

I would say it is way too big. A 200 or 250 watt would be more appropriate in my opinion.

How to measure lumens of a full spectrum LED light.Since a lux meter only measures certain spectrums of light, how do I use a lux meter to determine the right height of my full spectrum grow light? Does anyone have experience with colas that have been severely light deprived, yet still have trichs?My ghost nug grew up on the side of the tent blocked from light. She has trichs, looks super light yellow (see pics). My question is, wouldn't this be desirable? Less chlorophyll to wait on before smoking? Has anyone tried to maybe light deprive parts of their colas?

LED's wont shut completely offLights seem to go on a "standby mode" instead of being all the way shut when timers switch them off. Should I buy some other timers? These were brand new, cheap ones though and both the same. Lights are HLG 600 RSPEC and both did this.

My grow tent is sitting in my basement, which normally sits at 10C in the winter, so I set the heat in the room to 18C and the LED and 2 fans heat it to 20.4C in the tent.
Anyone have a similar setup but using their grow lights as a heat source? Heating a basement is expensive.

Veg lighting approach? Switching from cfl to hps?I started my second grow a couple weeks ago with a 130w cfl in my 1m veg cupboard. I’m thinking I will make the switch to a 250w hps soon. Posible quemadura?Every time I go into flowering, this happens to me and I can't find a solution. I use a 1.20 x 1.20 tent and I have a 730w LED; I'm starting to think that the light is too powerful and the plants are suffering from heat. There were two days when it reached 32 degrees, and I'm currently at 29/30.
