The best, my good friend, is always to start with preventatives! From the beginning to the end, I recommend diluting diatomaceous earth in water and spraying it (only at the beginning of the day)... you can also complement it with a fungicide! Most of the time, what they sell is organic, you can use it without risk... there are some products that help combat these pests like: "top barrier, top crop", "leaf coat, biobizz", "diatomaceous earth", "mighty wash, NPK industries"... among many others! Also, you can complement with yellow tape to catch some bugs! ... here in Chile, I had a similar issue and I used a national product called "pulgón, anasac" and honestly, it has been one of the best eliminators I've seen! Cheers, my friend, I hope you can save that crop... I didn't want to recommend "potassium soap or neem oil" because in my case and in many I've seen, it doesn't work when the pest is already established!....

Sprinkling some diotomacious earth on the top layer of your medium. It’s like barbed wire for flies trying to get to your soil.
