Topping

Never topped plants before, this is my first time growing and with the tight spacing of the nodes might have damaged the little growth in the crotch when I cut... Should I be ok or did I potentially damage the yield potential? Should be able to zoom in on last few pics of week 3

Looks fine! It hard to see, but try to keep a little stem on top of the remaining node, i.e. cut close to the topped node, to reduce the risk of harming the new branches.

What you did is similar to a FIM (Fuck, i missed!) cut... except some ppl do this intentionally. it's possible you damage the node 'just' enough to cause auxin to be diverted below (growth hormone) and still get the growth at terminal that you mutilated. So you end up with 3-4 shoots instead of just 2 after a top. I'm not a fan of it, personally. either way, the plant will survive, not too big of a deal. If you feel the nodes are too tight, give a little weaker light early on next time before ramping up to full power. This will allow a longer internode to develop. allow that space between nodes (internode) to guide your light intensity choices. Topping *can diminish yield. Potentially could increase it too. Pretty sure nobody has done a scientific experiement with a control group to really understand all the probabilities, but they will be confident bout varied opinions, nonetheless. it's dangerous for autos, because they are on a genetic timer. Stress can cause it to get stunted or bloom to go off early and both would diminish yield. Genetics wil play a huge role on whether you should or should not top and that's difficult to predict by just looking at a seedling or plant.

Hey! You have an autoflower plant, they are not recommended to trim. When trimming, the plant should be time to restore from stress. Photoceriodic, we can increase the growing season. Autoflower it is limited genetically. Yield will decrease as far as depends on conditions and varieties. Specify how your substrate you have. good luck! Learn from your experience)
