I am in the same boat. Getting 80F degrees with ~30% humidity. I need 50-60% humidity but afraid of wasting money and having it all get vented out. Following question. Best VPD is usually 10% humidity less than temperature, e.g. if it is 75F degrees then 65% humidity ideal, right?

Bottom line is, Humidity is *only one* of the many variables that will make your environment optimal. Let's not forget that at least 50% of the outcome is genetic related. They're is different things you can look at to make your grow a success. Grower's capacity of adaptation always makes the difference and separate the pros from the amateur.

Also living and growing in the same area and conditions. Best thing I found is to work with the seasons. The dryness of the winter is perfect for late mid-late flowering. Having some plants ready to send in flower around mid November naturally gives you a great VPD for the whole cycle. The following run is the hardest to provide optimal environment, but... Some strains should be flowered with lower humidity because of mold. This would be the best time to grow some dense Indicas, stocky plants, and rock solid flowers strains. On the other side, having plants in bloom in mid July with 80% humidity, temps over 30C is bigger concern to me. However, it is the best time to grow some tropical and African Sativas. Having a separate veg and flower garden also help. The vegetative section can use less light, and will produce less heat. Keeping your extractor on a timer will help to keep the humidity longer in the tent keeping the VPD in a more comfortable zone.

Im struggling with it too man.. it’s rough.. I’m in Michigan, I’m planning on taking thanksgiving to end of February off growing next year because of this. Or maybe just flower cycle in this time period .. it’s killer on Seedlings and young vegging plants. Lots of great idea already stated just wanted to put my 2 cents in

I use a whole house wick style humidifier to keep my house comfortable, which keeps the tent in range.

Few options you have. Put a bigger humidifier in the main room the air is getting sucked in from. Put a humidifier into the tent. Hang wet towels in the tent to boost humidity or have them dipping into a pot of water that you change daily, it will wick up the water and if you point a fan at the towel it will disperse the moisture faster. Wash the towels weekly with some bleach or on hot to kill off any bacteria or mold that may have been growing in them. My tents is also having issues with RH. I use a smaller 250ml ultrasonic diffuser with a wet towel that I re-wet twice a day. morning and when I'm home from work. It boosts it up to 55%, I only vent out air when temps get above 26c and if humidity goes above 65% Best Of Luck and Happy Growing.
