Is there a good soil for cannabis cultivation that does NOT contain perlite?
Canna Terra, Plagron, and Biobizz apparently all contain perlite in their mixes, but I want to add it myself.
I can get perlite for 9 cents per kilogram (5-10L).

If you are in Germany/Europe, look up Klassman-Deilmann, they make many professional mixes, most without perlite, specifically their "container substrates".
Remember too, your mix does not need to contain much more than 1% perlite.
If you go to Mandala Seeds and click on their "grow guides", they have much more information about the best pre-made soils to use, for both the European market and for the U.S. market too.

Or do you not understand my questions?
I specifically asked for soil without perlite!
I understand that perlite in the soil makes sense, but that wasn't the question.
I'm also aware of the mixing ratio, that wasn't the question either.

Like Roberts said, usually they don’t add enough. I got FFOF and it looked like they put 1 cup of perlite in the whole cubic foot bag lol.

Perlite is good. add it for airy soil to avoid wet soil that's lead to roots rot.

A lot of brands contain some perlite. From my experience I like to add more to help with resistance to overwatering in soil.

I have 2 cm of clay pebbles at the bottom of the pot and I don't have a saucer under the pot.
Is it normal for the roots to show through the holes? What is it due to?

noticed the ph in the Pots is at 6.5+, something to do with the Hydroton. In order to balance it i had to drop the res PH to 4.0, but it constantly rises back up to 6. Using RO water
Suggestions appreciated, will the Hydroton eventually stop having the ability to raise my PH?Week 1

re-using soil worth it?Anyone with experience (give comparison growth, yield,...).... I use biobizz light mix. Normally, I only have to mix the soil with a bit of fresh soil and worm hummus to activate organic life again. And ofcourse break the old plant material with enzymes first and let it restSetup. Drastic rise in ppm using top drip in hydrotonHey... i am having a problem with my top drip on hydroton (week 1). My ppm rises dramatically over a day and a half. Im talking 300ppm to 800ppm.
Hydroton has been rinsed well before use. I have run dwc and rdwc before in hydroton without any problems. Anyone have an idea?

Brand new coco shows PH at 4.5, plants in germination stateI am germinating my seeds in coco. My coco shows PH of 4.5! That seems way too low! I tried to flushing with PH 6.7 water without any effect (see growdiary for more info). What should I do? Is something wrong with my coco?

Ph of the soilPh of the soil, I checked with this 2 ph meter but I dont know the credibility, if that work.. I see that is around 8.0 but I use water at 6.0ph and soil light mix biobizz, bio grow ,calmag , bio heaven. Are biology shouldn't change the ph.. how is possible? Advise?

Soil recommendation? Typically use Fox Farms Happy Frog but price keeps going up and quality seems much lower, lots of sticks, not mixed well etcIs there any soil recommendations anyone can make that are good but a less pricey? Dont get me wrong, I love Fox Farm’s, and 38/bag isnt terrible. I’m just curious if anyone has found a more mainstream soil that’s as good of soil.
