Anyone ever use Chunky perlite? For example Mother Earth's #3 or #4. Typically it is sized as the following...fine, medium, course and super course.

i've used teh super chunk stuff before...
i did not like it... yeah, base 1-2" can be fine if you do that... in fact teh chunky stuff is probably better for that. i think it's too much obstruction to roots as well as not as effective impoving dainage, while still taking up same sapce ("lbs for lbs" so to speak))
you can easily crunch it up a bit... doesn't take much force to break it down slightly... not that i think it is woth the effort. splitting hairs, but i wasn't a fan of the super coarse stuff.. What i used was #4. I think the stuff that comes in teh premixed mothe earth is a bit too small.. so you know.. fuck it, lol. still prefer convenience relative to small pecentages.

The big perlite seems to work slightly better, some have said it's harder to mix in the soil but the amount of O2 the bigger perlite provides the rhyzosphere is much greater then granulated perlite allowing the roots to uptake neuts better, rather making the neuts more available. Hope this helps!

Yeah I mean I’d recommend probably the 3 being course. I use the 4 (super course) for actually filling an inch or so on the bottom of the container. But they seem too big to mix into the actual medium well.. but definitely recommend the larger than the smaller

Clay pebbles at the bottomI'm thinking using this like maybe an half inch in 4 gallon fabric pot - for better airflow for roots & to prevent overwatering. They absorb the excess well and give off slowly.
Been doing this with my normal plants at home and it works well for them. Anyone with experience?

** The only thing I am concerned about is these little sacs of spores or pollen ( not sure ) **

First time testing PPM and slightly panicked :cRunoff was at 2200PPM. I flushed her with 5L of pH 5.8 water. I got the runoff to 1000PPM where I left it. The pH was at 7 though and was higher than before the flush. Why is that? I always pH before watering. Also, is the flush going to cause trouble for her? I kind of panicked.5y ago

Once seed cracked i planted seed on this soil. Is it too strong for the seedling? Am i already in trouble? xPIt's from Geolia, ph5.5-6.5. It says it has guano 200g/m³, and 1kg/m³ of N14 P16 K18 fertelizer and 7.0kg/m³ of limestone. 60-75% water absortion.It composed mostly of peat it seems.
