I'm 5 days into my dry and I'm getting that wet hay smell and losing the sweet blueberry which is making me sad.
I am drying in my grow tent and my temps have been 61-67f and 51-57%. I Have a dehumidifier and a fan circulating air. What can I do?
It will be okay, mine lose the smell too during drying but if you rub the flowers you can still get the smell from the oils! When you trim you are gonna get the smell back big time, put them in jars to cure and do their thing, not to worry!
It happens, if you have got alot of moisture out of them already then turn the fan down to low speed or off and just keep the humidity on point and it will be fine. It should come back during the cure and you will prob find once you cure the hay smell out the blueberry will show itself when you crumble a bud. Some buds seem to take the smell and flavor in and it only comes out when you break up a bud or even only when you smoke it. As long as you cure it for a while that hay smell will fade and just leave blueberry deliciousness.
Try not to have any air blowing directly on them and keep them in the dark if they are not already.
I've had buds get some of their smell back once I jar them up.
Good Luck!
That is natural. At the beginning of cure you probably will have a grassy smell that will go away in a couple weeks. I like to tell people to sample their product at least at the beginning of curing and once a week to help determine how much you want to cure. Some will cure for months. I like 3 weeks as a compromise between taste, aroma and time.
