soilless -- promix, add some perlite to 50/50 mix (including what comes in the promix bag). Zero nutes except for an iota of ph-balancing lime and a wetting agent.
coco too.. but that's gotta be bad for environment.. the amount of water to process coco (high initial EC, then have to buffer it because chemically is is crap for plants to in raw form, lol) and ppl seem to think it's a 'green' choice, lol. it's like running a electric car and charging it somewhere with coal plants while thinking you are saving the planet... sure, with a very narrow view. Still a valid option.. if cheaper go for it.. it retains less water, so maybe a little less perlite than with sphagnum peat moss base. be wary of brand with coco... the cheap bricks should be avoided. some brands doa better job than others and the bad jobs will slow down a grow for 30+ days.
