Has anyone seen purple ish/black buds on a non-purple strain? I can't wrap my head around it 🤯

It’s just the 1/1000 of that strain every strain has a pheno that does this it’s just about finding it. 🙏🌱💚

Hi @SecondHandSmoke! Yes these things happens. Don't forget that you're running test strains, these are probably not 100% stabilized yet, so you can find some different parent's genes depending on the phenotype you grow. Happy growing! 👊

Just the same as parents with dark hair giving birth to a ginger baby, may not be what was expected, but it is the result. There are even reports of white parents birthing a black baby. the genes from way back in the day can just decide to pop out one day. There are ways to coax the purples out of plants, but not with the results that you have.

Yeah it can be seen. But it's also mean that the purple genes are present in the parents of that strain : a recessive gene that is not dominant but can sometimes Express it self

Seems like a rare pheno to me or maybe a wrong seed in the bag. But no worries, it's also smokable and enjoyable.

Purple bud👍 always a nice bonus. Definitely a genetic trait that was dominant in that seed. You may have some kind of experimental Forrest Gump strain where 20 different seeds gives you 20 different phenotype you never know what your going to get. Skunk #1 does have some Indica genetics that cooler temps will bring out purples in late bloom but I think Sensi seeds may need to stabilize this strain a bit more. Last possibility is they ran out of that strain and substituted a seed from another strain. SURPRISE! It does happen especially since this should be a sativa dominant strain.

Yes it's your buds are good. Genetics and being your night and day temp are 10 or little more difference will bring out the best colors in buds. Great looking plant 👌

Yeah there are so many different genetics mixed in most strains out there these days that sometimes the traits of a plant bred into them several generations ago can pop out. Its a really nice looking plant you have there!!
