Blackout curtains can be picked up from almost any large retailer like Walmart, target etc. Use a staple gun or tape to seal the edges against the wall. This is an easier solution than the window box but the window box is still highly recommended. If you recently purchased the window unit you can try to return it and pick up one of these active air 14,000btu portable a/c units. I’d recommend using cardboard and tape to cover up the leak areas to the best of your ability without blocking any of the air movement. And I’d also suggest having your light schedule in sync with the daylight hours outside. Lights on during the day and off at night. Any light leakage at night should be minimal. Good luck!
