No wait till the plant has 5 nodes before you top! At this time the plant is stronger and will recover a lot faster aswell.

Did I wait too long to top?I just topped, main-lined, and defoliated. The stem is about the thickness of a pencil, and the nodes are very tightly packed. The reason I waited so long to top was because I wanted to clone the cuttings and give them to a friend. My question is, did I wait too long to top?
