Wait till a small percentage of tricomes are amber and the rest be milky and not clear for good thc levels unless you want a higher cbd amount then allow a higher percentage of amber tricomes.

Wait until you have about 98% brown pistils, this is when your plant will have peak THC levels.

As mentioned below, personally I tend to wait for about 25 to 30% amber color trichomes. A majority of the remaining trichomes should be milky at that point. Also, I bought a great wireless microscope from Amazon for about 30 bucks. Great investment.

Look at the trichomes with some sort of magnifying glass or camera with zoom. Check out the heads and see if all of them are at Least cloudy. If they are, you can harvest whenever you want.
