I defoliated and removed lower, small, shaded bud sites during the first 3 days of flower. Was it a bad move considering the plant is bushy as heck and hasn’t stretched yet? Left about 25 « tops » (2 actual main colas) with some growth right underneath. Did I hurt my future yield

You're time is fine and you can also defoliate on dayb 7, 14 and 21 but would stop after day 21, that's where you get a bit of a decline in performance but other then that you're good to go..You can lollipop until day 21 as well but same rule of thumb applies..

Hey I was given this by a friend. It basically explains that you take the fan leafs up and down the nodes leaving the last 2 main fan leafs on top of each node to draw in energy.
The sites lower the the nodes will focus on flowering instead of growing leafs.
Leave the sugar leafs be
