I prepped my Stepwell Super Soil (500ml/G of soil) with water and mixed before planting. I'm unsure how wet the bottom of the bucket is 30 days later. My plant is using 1L of water per day. How could I check the soils wetness? Would watering until run off help growth rate?

Well that is one awesome looking plant very healthy takes to training well over the weeks you've grown her .do you have drainage holes big enough in bottom ? Soil wetness meters I've seen don't look reliable or go to a depth that your looking at hard to say in that situation .soaking the medium to the point of runoff when she is other wise very healthy will not improve the growth rate of this girl it would probably stunt her .she looks good unless she shows signs of root problems or just started acting weird I wouldn't worry about the bottom of that pail just my though good luck

Hey, there are different methods grower use to Check if they have to Water. First of All the weight of the pot is a good indicator if it needs to be watered. If it is Light it ist Watering time. Also a lot of grower advice in feeling the top of the soil if it feels dry Not moist you should Water. If it is dry more then 3-5cm deep you waited to long. Watering until runoff will Not increase your growth rate. It may if you overwater your plants(common in soil) stun them in growth. Feed every other Watering and keep in Mind overwatering is worse then underwatering. You can also check the ppm of the runoff if you want to know if you Feed to much. Hopefully i could help you. If you have any question go ahead and ask me.

You should always water at least once per week with run off especially if your using nutrients. If you're all organic then it doesn't matter as much. Your pot should have drainage holes in. You can buy a soil tester very cheap to check pH and water levels in the soil but generally water 1-2litre every 2-4 days as a guide. Never keep the soil wet always let it dry abit before watering.
