Germination struggle

I’m at a stand still in my germ process. The seed popped and showed a taproot, so I put it in my perlite. After a week, no change. I gently removed and put back into germ thinking I didn’t germ long enough. Am I dead in the water?

I think after a week it's probably lost, but I would give it at least 10 days before completely abandoning hope. Personally, I'd stick both the other seeds in and see if anything comes up - if both do, use the best one (or do two!). You have to make sure the soil you're putting it into is kept above 21°C. You can put it somewhere warm (above a radiator/boiler, in a heated propagator, on a seed mat, etc.). The most important things early on are damp/moist soil (not wet - overwatering will kill the seedling!) and a warm place, then high humidity once the seedling is up (make a dome with a hole using of the top half of a soda bottle) and then you'll have a good start. Rooting cubes can help as well (rockwool, Root Riot sponges, Jiffy bags, etc). Good luck!

Your other seeds look fine. I'd say give it another grow and try to improve from the last attempt. A bit of Hydrogen Peroxide in your water will help. It adds Oxygen and kills harmful bacteria and pathogens.

All of this is top notch advice, thanks guys. I put two more seeds in a separate paper towel wick and put it on top of my freezer along with the seed in question. I’ve had success germing on top the freezer before. My perlite is staying at a healthy temp. I just set up my new tent and I’m running some temp experiments in the empty tent. I’ve been having my doubts about the 100% perlite grow. I’m starting to think it serves best with clones. I have jiffy pellets but wasn’t sure how they’d do adding soil to my soilless set up. A lot of this comes down to me trying to grow one plant at a time, decreases my chances for harvest drastically. I’ll keep you updated, don’t be surprised if my current diary gets nixed and a new strain shows. My other seeds are either from commercially purchased herb or local bag seed and aren’t verified fem. I’d assume most seeds from sensi are fem or herm but doubt I have a fool proof way to determine. I’m dreading pollen sacks after my first diary failed. Thanks for the support.

I think the seed is dead. I've had seeds sprout then die before for no apparent reason. I would suggest adding a bit of H2O2 or hydrogen peroxide to your germination water at about 10% by volume using the 2% solution. I would also suggest finding a warm spot for your seed. 70 - 80 degrees is good. Above the refrigerator is usually a good spot. A seedling mat would help. I would also try to keep the seedling in the dark as much as possible especially after sprouting the tap root. Honestly I would not use pure perlite. I suggest putting the seed in some living organic soil.

How’s it going unfortunately if it’s been a week and nothing happening you may need to start again, try placing the seeds in a glass of water and keep in a dark place try to keep the temp there above 21 degrees Celsius for a day or two then put in paper towel for another 24 hours I place the damp paper towel inside a sealable bag to keep it from drying out too much, try that and see if anything happens with them, if you get tap roots plant the seed if not you will have to start again with new seeds, hope this helps goodluck ☘️

Maybe if I periodically add warm water to my germ cup I’ll see change? Maybe I should skip the germ and germ directly in my substrate since it’s easier to control?

Do the others from the pack look viable? I have a small collection of seeds to choose from if these are no bueno, but these were my only autos, and only from a seed bank. I’m tempted to go crazy and just germ a ton and see what sticks. I’m afraid it’s my temps. With a laser therm, the paper towel reads 63f I’d assume this is too cold, but not sure how I can rectify it without splurging on a heating pad. Should I cut my loss and germ again. Do the other CKSs I have look ok?
