i ignore the first node. it'll never grow decent weed, although outside is a totally different context.
you don't need to do any majore LST outside. If you take a lux meter or PAR meter (quantom meter) you can see what i mean. from all directions the plant is bombarded with strong light.
So, all you have to do is spread it out... improve light penetration. You don't have to bend it over 90-degrees to do this and you'll cause less stress not doing that.
if you need to limit vertical growth (oops, just read it) use a net of some sort. pop a few bamboo stakes into the pot and secure a net at an appropriate height (-portability that you need).. keep weaving the growth ... pay attention to how long the nights are.. you'll have to guesstimate when it goes into bloom and make sure you let it grow vertically within 5-7 days of taht switch... should fill in the rest of the net. if an auto, it's a total guess when to let it go vertical. each plant can have a significantly different timeline.
no net and some stakes can do it too.. tie things down and secure them to grow horizontally.
you'll probably learn, but moving something inside and out comes with potential problems and headaches. if your hand is forced, that's one thing, but to choose to do it for any other reason usually isn't a smart thing to do. you'll definitely bring bugs and shit into your home.
since you 'have' to do it.. i'd wait until it is at the height you want (when bent over), but also before any of the stems turn woody/rigid. That doesn't happen overnight.. if you think it is losing malleability, go ahead and do it before it gets brittle to such shaping. It's better to have some axillary growth developing, imo. Keep that terminal bud lower thna the rest and the lower buds will steal apical dominance... play with that dynamic to get the shape/growth you want anywhere on the plant.
