Defoliation not sure can i do it or when to it?

I would always defoliate if the leaf costs the plant more energy than it brings in. This is always the case when the leaf hardly gets any light. LEDs don't penetrate the leaf canopy like the sun does. Outside, it may be right that the plant doesn't shed its leaves because they all bring it energy. But the sun also penetrates the plant. LEDs don't do that. So indoors, it's a whole different story. Make your own experiences. I definitely defoliate leaves that I can't tuck away and leaves that hardly get any light. Even with autos. The plant will thank you for it. Every photon that your buds get from defoliation will ultimately bring you more yield.

Why defoliate at all? Just remember.......... Less leaves = less energy being made = less growth!

why do you need to defo so much? if there is clutter causing standing water on leaves from overlap, that's a good reason. stick toa good reason to do it, and you won't remove too much. don't just do it because it's what the herd does or seemingly does.

Oh, one more thing. I've been regularly defoliating my current auto - even during the flowering stage. She's doing great. :)

In my opinion, you can treat an auto in flowering just like a photoperiod. An auto starts to flower on its own, which means you have to be careful during the veg phase not to stress the plant too much, because you can't determine the timing of the flowering yourself. Once it's in flowering and gets stressed, it might delay the time until harvest... just like with a photo.

Autos do not respond well to defoliation at all I wouldn't bother the plant needs all the leaves it has to convert as much light into energy as possible if you get into a good habit of leaving it alone now the more leaves you have the more surface area for light if the plant would benefit from having its fans removed it would of evolved to loose them on their own. Yes you can use it to free up room for air circulation but if the tips of the leaves are moving then you have enough anyway so. up to you but i always would rather tuck a leaf away or move it if its covering a bud site is the only real reason i would remove a leafe and that's if i couldn't move it or tuck it out the way.

Since its an auto i would remove not more than 2 leaves every 3 days. happy growing
