This is my first grow. Everything seems to be looking okay so far. On day 17, I cut the center out of the top node. I see two new nodes growing nicely now. Do I need to prune more at this point? Thanks, iGrowZ

No at this stage you need to let her recover from the topping , what you can do is wait for the stems to be longer and then bend them using ropes or anything that can help to practice LST but at this stage you need to wait for more height before you can properly work on the shape. If during next week you see that some secondaries stems aren't receiving enough like then it will be time to consider pruning some leaves 😊👍

Don't prune anything else just yet. Let her recover. once those new branches get a couple nodes and have some decent sized fan leaves I would strip all growth below the topmost set of growth on the main stem. Also, tie down the branches once they get long enough to do so. Give her another little while to recover and then when she has 4 nodes on each of the 2 branches you have I would top down to the 3rd node again and strip the 2nd node from the center of the plant. This will leave you with 8 main colas that you can train to maximize your lighting. This technique is called manifolding.

Hi @iGrowZ! If you're looking to build a strong plant with a well-balanced structure, you should consider the "mainlining" method, basically it's already what you're doing but you now need to prune everything under the TOPped node, and let the new growth become bigger, before doing another TOPping surgery on these 2 new apexes. Take a loot at my THCbomb diary, you will understand how it's done, the main purpose is to have all the colas equals to each others. This is a great method to get big colas and avoid the "popcorn buds". Hope this will help, keep us updated and happy growing 👊
