When curing dried buds, how much curing do they need to achieve a compact dense form like the ones in the picture below

i've had nugs come out that could break the tynes off an acrylic grinder... no hormones or chemicals used.. just another physical trait of 1 plant vs another. some factors can make small differences relative to genetics but never a huge one under normal contexts. could rate of drying and temps further imacts it? maybe? those factors definitely impact the development on the plant while alive.

that's matter of genetics that are influenced by environment. hot and humid will promote less dense buds to be grown, for example, but if the genetics dictate dense nugs than they will mostly be dense, but less than they normally would. in other words, you can't change an environmental factor and cause a miracle to happen. (common sense range of factors applied). what you are doing is trying to preserve thc and terpenes. limiting evaporation of the most volatile compounds as best you can by controlling temperature and RH%. mid 60's 55-62% RH will do you good. and that target environment mostly stays the same once you store them for curing. once fully at equilibrium other storage options are available depending on how long you intend to store it. glass jars and humidi-paks are great for 12-18 months, but any longer and yo uwant to consider vacuum sealing and near-freezing temps. You can push 2 years and only lose 5-10% of potency in best context. you can look up boiling points of the cannibidiols (whatever the right 'umbrella' term is, lol) the ones with the lowest BP will evaporate the fastest. THC delta nine is up around 400F? it sticks around at room temp a long time. Some have a BP in the upper 70s F or low 80s F. treat it like tobacco, for the most part. once dry and at equilibrium with temp/RH not much is happening beside slow loss.

This is most likely from PGR. Chemicals fed to the plants to make them compact and dense. Many people say these chemicals cause cancer.

Curing doesn't do that

Unless they start off compact and dense, no amount of curing will magically change fluffy buds into hard rocks.
