Thanks for replys, bugs seem same in run off although they look like they live in top part of pot, I'll definitely use boiling water next time, and I think I'll opt in for the canna branded bricks. I've used Yates insect killer for lawns.. Seems to have worked so far but not a fan of using something that won't dissolve. Still looking for that one perfect insect drench :)

also next time you use your coir, run boiling water thorugh it before plants or fortifing it. helps kill off any pathogens and pests. It also helps lower the salt buildup in it. One brand of coco coir I like is called CANNA, it comes in bags and bricks. I use the bricks and love it, others I know use the bags and they have had zero issues with any pests from it.

They look like a form of stink bug. can kill em off with a pesticide. or some soap and water. Deet would most likely kill em off instantly, but its not something I'd want in my plants medium. Could also try making the medium acidic to get them out but might affect the plant. Vecobac aka Bacillus thuringiensis or BT wont work well on them. kills out fungas gnats though. H2O2 would work, but the concentration needed to kill em will also wreck havoc on the plants root system. Neem should be an ok deterrent but unless it got the specif compound in it that kills the bugs, it won't do much. Sometimes they remove this as its also dangerous to humans. one old trick would be to capture them all in a jar and place some water in it. let them get all dead and gross. then mix that water into a solution and drench the soil. The idea is it will grow disease for the pests and when you give it to your plant it will make all the bugs sick and they will die. never tested this out myself, just heard about it. take this with a grain of salt as it verry well might be high grade bullshit. good Luck!

Hey, are you seeing them in your run off and if so are they the same colour as they are now?
